Last year our friend Super Samantha gave us the Sufjan Stevens Christmas collection: all 5 of his Christmas CDs. We listened a couple times and it was cool. This year we've been listening to more music, and we've played Sufjan a bunch and paid more attention to his lyrics. Laura's favorite Sufjan Christmas lyric: "K-Mart is closed". The line that most sticks in my head (from the same song, "Come On! Let's Boogey To The Elf Dance!"): "Santa Claus is coming, hear the banjo strumming". Best song title: "Get Behind Me, Santa!"

we just had the children's house angel tree party. they made us a sparkly cross, which made jen teary.

today i am looking forward to monte ne, that is, the ConC guys semi-annual dead day dinner at the monte ne inn, an all you can eat family-style fried chicken dinner.

i'm also looking forward to return of the king. 132 hours to go.

i will also mention that "vertigo" is growing on me.
